The Philippine Deposit Insurance Corporation (PDIC) is leading the nationwide observance of the 15th Depositor Protection and Awareness Week (DPAW) on June 16 to 22, 2017 anchored on the theme, “Protect your future: Be a Wise Saver.” Through this simple yet relevant and compelling reminder, PDIC is calling on the depositing public to be responsible with their hard-earned money by safeguarding it in banks and, at the same time, being vigilant against financial scams that perpetuate these days.

While the PDIC is committed to protect depositors through deposit insurance and financial literacy initiatives, the depositors’ first line of defense against fraudulent schemes is still their discernment and ability to make wise financial decisions. The observance of the Depositor Protection and Awareness Week (DPAW) auspiciously culminates on June 22, PDIC’s 54th founding year. We have chosen “PDIC @ 54: Adapting to Evolving Financial Challenges” as this year’s anniversary theme to underscore PDIC’s resilience and relevance especially in the face of dynamic changes and challenges in the financial industry.
