PDIC Releases Second Issue of PDIC Forum

For its second issue, the PDIC Forum gathers key personalities with extensive exposure on integrated financial supervision to provide inputs for primary movers and policy makers in the Philippine financial system in considering move toward the emerging concept of integrated financial supervision. Providing the global perspective on the issue is Financial Services Authority's Managing Director Michael Foot,) who graciously obliged to be interviewed electronically for this issue and Dr. Melanie Milo, Research Fellow of the Philippine Institute of Development Studies, who provided a digest of her extensive discussion paper on the global experiences of various countries that adopted an integrated supervision. Securities and Exchange Commission's Chairperson Lilia Bautista tackles the Philippine financial sector's bid towards consolidated supervision. The Industry Scan presents updated banking statistics focusing on deposit statistics for full year of 2003 The PDIC Forum also reprints a paper on the role of the Korean Deposit Insurance Corporation in the financial restructuring process in Korea arising from the recent Asian financial crisis of that country.
