PDIC sets forums for depositors, borrowers of the closed Rural Bank of Mabitac (Laguna), Inc. |

The Philippine Deposit Insurance Corporation (PDIC) is set to conduct nine Depositors – Borrowers Forums (DBFs) for the closed Rural Bank of Mabitac (Laguna), Inc. The DBF for the Infanta Branch is scheduled on March 20, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. at the Infanta Social Center, Velasco St. corner Plaridel, Poblacion 38, Infanta, Quezon. Two DBFs are scheduled on March 21, 2019: 1) Siniloan extension office at 9:00 A.M. at the Plaza G. Redor, Brgy. Bagumbarangay, Siniloan, Laguna; and 2) Paete micro banking and extension offices at 2:00 P.M at the Agarao Covered Court, Brgy. 4 Quinale, Paete, Laguna. Two DBFs are again scheduled on March 26, 2019: 1) Head Office at 9:00 A.M. at Lola Paulina’s Garden, Brgy. P. Burgos, Siniloan, Laguna; and 2) Sta. Maria extension office at 2:30 P.M. at the Sta. Maria Market Covered Court, Poblacion 4, Sta. Maria, Laguna. There will also be two DBFs on March 27, 2019: 1) Calamba extension office at 9:00 A.M. at the Brgy. VII Covered Court, Juliano Subd., Calamba City; and 2) Los Baños micro banking and extension offices at 3:00 P.M. at the College of Arts and Sciences CAS Auditorium Annex I Bldg., UP Los Baños, Andres P. Aglibut Avenue, Los Baños, Laguna. The DBF for the Candelaria Branch will be on March 28, 2019 at 10:00 A.M. at the Candelaria Municipal Covered Court, Rizal St., Brgy. Poblacion, Candelaria, Quezon. The DBF for the Cabuyao micro banking and extension offices will be on March 29, 2019 at 9:00 A.M. at the Felicia’s Village Covered Court, Brgy. Banlic, Cabuyao City. The requirements and procedures for filing deposit insurance claims and settlement of loans will be explained during the forums. Rural Bank of Mabitac (Laguna), Inc. was ordered closed by the Monetary Board (MB) of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas on February 21, 2019. * * * * * The Philippine Deposit Insurance Corporation (PDIC) was established on June 22, 1963 by Republic Act 3591 to provide depositor protection and help maintain stability in the financial system by providing deposit insurance. Effective June 1, 2009, the maximum deposit insurance coverage is PhP500,000 per depositor. All deposit accounts by a depositor in a closed bank maintained in the same right and capacity shall be added together.
