PDIC schedules forums for depositors, borrowers of the closed Tiaong Rural Bank, Inc. |
August 15, 2018 The Philippine Deposit Insurance Corporation (PDIC) is set to conduct eight Depositors – Borrowers Forums (DBFs) for the closed Tiaong Rural Bank, Inc. On August 15, 2018, the first DBF is scheduled at 9:00 A.M. for depositors of the bank’s San Pablo City Branch to be held at the Lions Club, Dagatan Blvd., Sampalok Lake, San Pablo City, Laguna. The second DBF is scheduled at 9:30 A.M. for depositors of the bank’s Imus Branch to be held at the Imus Institute Gymnasium, Imus, Cavite. On August 16, 2018, PDIC will hold three DBFs for the bank’s Head Office; and Lipa City and Calamba Branches. Depositors of the Head Office are advised to attend the DBF at 9:00 A.M. at the Brgy. San Antonio Covered Court, Santo Tomas, Batangas. Depositors of the bank’s Lipa City Branch are advised to attend the DBF at 9:00 A.M. at the Lipa City Colleges, New Gymnasium, Pres. Katigbak St., Lipa City Batangas. The DBF for the bank’s Calamba Branch will be held at 2:00 P.M. at the Circulo Function Room, 2/F Paseo Uno De Calamba Building, Brgy. Paciano Rizal, Calamba City, Laguna. Three DBFs will also be held on August 17, 2018 for the bank’s Batangas City, Tiaong, and Santa Rosa Branches. Depositors of the Batangas City Branch are advised to attend the DBF at 9:00 A.M. at the Philippine Red Cross Covered Court, Batangas Center, Capitol Site, Kumintang Ibaba, Batangas City. Depositors of the bank’s Tiaong Branch are advised to attend the DBF at 9:30 A.M. at the New Municipal Hall Covered Court, Tiaong, Quezon. Lastly, the DBF for the bank’s Santa Rosa Branch will be held at 2:00 P.M. at the Covered Court of Barangay Balibago, Sta. Rosa, Laguna. The requirements and procedures for filing deposit insurance claims and settlement of loans will be explained during the forums. Tiaong Rural Bank was ordered closed by the Monetary Board (MB) of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas on August 2, 2018. * * * * * The Philippine Deposit Insurance Corporation (PDIC) was established on June 22, 1963 by Republic Act 3591 to provide depositor protection and help maintain stability in the financial system by providing deposit insurance. Effective June 1, 2009, the maximum deposit insurance coverage is PhP500,000 per depositor. All deposit accounts by a depositor in a closed bank maintained in the same right and capacity shall be added together.
