PDIC sets forums for depositors, borrowers of the closed Bangko Buena Consolidated, Inc. (A Rural Bank) |
August 8, 2018 The Philippine Deposit Insurance Corporation (PDIC) is set to conduct three Depositors – Borrowers Forums (DBFs) for the closed Bangko Buena Consolidated, Inc. in Capiz, Iloilo and Guimaras. The first and second DBFs are scheduled on August 9, 2018 at 10:00 A.M. at Dao Social Hall, Brgy. Poblacion, Dao, Capiz and at 2:00 P.M. at the West Visayas University covered gymnasium (Lambunao campus) Ladridos St., Brgy. Poblacion Ilawod, Lambunao, Iloilo. The third DBF is scheduled on August 10, 2018 at 10:00 A.M. at Guimaras State College covered gymnasium, Brgy. Mclain, Buenavista, Guimaras. The requirements and procedures for filing deposit insurance claims and settlement of loans will be explained during the forums. Bangko Buena Consolidated, Inc. was ordered closed by the Monetary Board (MB) of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas on July 26, 2018. * * * * * The Philippine Deposit Insurance Corporation (PDIC) was established on June 22, 1963 by Republic Act 3591 to provide depositor protection and help maintain stability in the financial system by providing deposit insurance. Effective June 1, 2009, the maximum deposit insurance coverage is PhP500,000 per depositor. All deposit accounts by a depositor in a closed bank maintained in the same right and capacity shall be added together.
