PDIC wins Anvil awards |

The Philippine Deposit Insurance Corporation (PDIC) won two Anvil Silver Awards for its public relations tools during the Public Relations Society of the Philippines’ (PRSP) 52nd Anvil Awards’ Gabi ng Parangal on March 10, 2017 at the Makati Shangri-La Hotel. The awards are for its 2015 Annual Report and its hosting of the 14th Annual Meeting and International Conference of the Asia-Pacific Regional Committee of the International Association of Deposit Insurers in Iloilo City in June 2016. The 2015 Annual Report was recognized for depicting PDIC’s commitment to further spread its wings to attain new heights in terms of public service, revealing the accomplishments it gained along the way. Meanwhile, the hosting of the International Conference, with the theme “Raising Public Awareness on Depositor Protection”, was awarded for bringing together for the first time, communication experts in the field of advertising and public relations to interact with practitioners from deposit insurance agencies. PDIC President Roberto B. Tan (center) led the PDIC delegation that received the awards. He is joined by (L-R): Vice President Jose G. Villaret, Jr. (Corporate Affairs Group), Executive VP Ma. Ana Carmela L. Villegas, General Counsel Ma. Antonette Brillantes-Bolivar, and Senior VP Sandra A. Diaz. This is the second straight year that the deposit insurer won the much-coveted Anvil Awards after its official newsletter, Intercom, won in 2016 a Silver Anvil Award in recognition of its achievements in showcasing a memento of the milestones achieved together by the PDIC workforce. In 2014, PDIC’s financial literacy guidebook, Usapang Pera: Mga Dapat Alamin, won an Anvil Award of Merit in recognition of its excellence as a PR tool in promoting financial literacy in the country. * * * * * The Philippine Deposit Insurance Corporation (PDIC) was established on June 22, 1963 by Republic Act 3591 to provide depositor protection and help maintain stability in the financial system by providing deposit insurance. Effective June 1, 2009, the maximum deposit insurance coverage is P500,000 per depositor. All deposit accounts by a depositor in a closed bank maintained in the same right and capacity shall be added together.
