PDIC's Newsletter wins prestigious Anvil Award

Intercom bags Silver award. Intercom, the internal newsletter of the Philippine Deposit Insurance Corporation (PDIC), won an Anvil Silver Award for Public Relations Tools during the 51st Anvil Awards Night on February 26, 2016 at the Makati Shangri-La Hotel. The much-coveted award by the Public Relations Society of the Philippines (PRSP) was in recognition of the Intercom's achievements in showcasing a memento of the milestones achieved together by the PDIC workforce. Anvil juror Dr. Nilo Rosas (extreme left), PRSP's Rochelle Hilario (2nd from left) and Anvil Awards Chairman Ron Jabal (extreme right) presented the award to PDIC President Cristina Que Orbeta (5th from left) and PDIC officers: First Vice President Josefina J. Velilla (Examination Group II), VP Jose G. Villaret, Jr. (Corporate Affairs Group), First VP Ma. Antonette B. Bolivar (Legal Affairs Sector), Divina F. Cavestany (Manager - Training Institute), Auramar D. Calbario (Manager - Corporate Communications Department), and Senior VP Romeo M. Mendoza, Jr. (Deposit Insurance Sector). This is the second Anvil award for PDIC, after its financial literacy guidebook, Usapang Pera: Mga Dapat Alamin, won an Anvil Award of Merit in 2014 in recognition of its excellence as a public relations tool aimed at helping promote financial literacy in the country.

The Philippine Deposit Insurance Corporation (PDIC) was established on June 22, 1963 by Republic Act 3591 to provide depositor protection and help maintain stability in the financial system by providing permanent and continuing deposit insurance. Effective June 1, 2009, the maximum deposit insurance coverage is P500,000 per depositor. All deposit accounts by a depositor in a closed bank maintained in the same right and capacity shall be added together. A joint account shall be insured separately from any individually-owned deposit account.
