PDIC awards Takbo 2 best runners

Thirty-two(32) individuals and one group emerged as winners during the "Takbo 2: Tungo sa Kalusugan, Para sa Kalikasan", a benefit run organized by the Philippine Deposit Insurance Corporation's (PDIC) on May 10, 2015 at the CCP Grounds, Pasay City. More than 2,000 runners registered for the event, which had three race distances with three winners each in the male and female categories. There was also a special race category for two age groups also with three winners each in the male and female categories. PDIC has partnered with Gawad Kalinga Community Development Foundation, Inc. for the conduct of the event to raise funds for the benefit of survivors of typhoon Yolanda in Lawaan, Eastern Samar.

Winners of each race category received gold, silver and bronze medals for the first, second and third placers, respectively. Gold medal winners in the 3km, 5km and 10km categories also received gift certificates from Saucony.

Other special awards given were for the Most Senior Runner Pedro Cruz, 81 years old, and Most Junior Runner Adrian Mateo Junio, 4 years old. Both finishers received special gift packs from event partners and PDIC.

Proceeds of the benefit run will fund the construction of more disaster-resilient houses in PDIC-GK Village in Lawaan, Eastern Samar.

1K winners (6-9 years old) : Contestants of the Miss Earth Philippines 2015 award the winners of the 1K race (6-9 years old): Cedric Ladiao (1st place), John Clark Dela Cruz(2nd place) and Sam Ocampo (3rd place). Female winners were Precious Heaven (1st place), Patricia Maria Valera (2nd place) and Althea Ruth Tan (3rd place).

 

1K winners (10-12 years old): ontestants of the Miss Earth Philippines 2015 award the winners of the 1K race (10-12 years old): Roy Lumawag (1st place), Make Austria (2nd place), and Jan Paulo Austria (3rd place). Female winners were Rayya Abellar (1st place), Lara Isabelle Labitad (2nd place) and Aledi Juliana Carlos (3rd place).

 

3K fastest runners: PDIC VP Elizabeth E. Oller, VP Nancy L. Sevilla-Samson and representatives from Saucony and Toby's presented the awards to the winners of the 3K race category: Carlito Fantillaga (1st place), Reggie Lumawag (2nd place) and Arjay Calatong (3rd place). Female winners were Jo Punay (1st place), Elena Camo (2nd place) and Eunell Dorana (3rd place).

 

5K top placers:PDIC EVP Imelda S. Singzon and SVP Ma. Ana Carmela L. Villegas presented the awards to the winners of the 5K race category: Isidro Perpetua (1st place), Georgie Dagaas (2nd place)and Arsenio Uminga (3rd place). Female winners were Vilma Sta. Ana (1st place), Rishane Abellar (2nd place) and Alana Halagueña (3rd place).

 

10K best finishers: PDIC President Cristina Que Orbeta and VP Ma. Antonette I. Brillantes-Bolivar and representatives from Saucony awarded the prizes to the winners of the 10K race category: Jobert Carolino (1st place), Christian Padre (2nd place) and Robin Angeles (3rd place). Female winners were Cindy Lorenzo (1st place), Jocelyn Elijeran (2nd place) and Mirela Macalinao (3rd place).

 

Largest guest delegation: Representatives of accounting firm, Reyes Tacandong & Co. receive the trophy from PDIC President Cristina Que Orbeta and EVP Imelda S. Singzon for being the largest guest delegation. RTC won the same award during Takbo sa Pagbangon ng Leyte in May 2014.

The Philippine Deposit Insurance Corporation (PDIC) was established on June 22, 1963 by Republic Act 3591 to provide depositor protection and help maintain stability in the financial system by providing permanent and continuing deposit insurance. Effective June 1, 2009, the maximum deposit insurance coverage is P500,000 per depositor. All deposit accounts by a depositor in a closed bank maintained in the same right and capacity shall be added together. A joint account shall be insured separately from any individually-owned deposit account.
