7. What is PDIC’s maximum deposit insurance coverage?

Effective March 15, 2025, the maximum deposit insurance coverage (MDIC) is ₱1 million per depositor, per bank. All deposit accounts of a depositor in a closed bank maintained in the same right and capacity shall be added together.

Under the PDIC Charter (R.A. No. 3591, as amended), the PDIC Board of Directors may increase the amount of the MDIC to an amount indexed to inflation or in consideration of other economic indicators as may be deemed appropriate by the Board. The PDIC Board of Directors shall review the amount of the MDIC every three years and increase the MDIC as may be warranted. In the exercise of this authority, the Board may consider economic indicators other than inflation.

the deposits of all banks. PDIC exists to protect
depositors by providing deposit insurance coverage for the depositing public and help promote financial stability. PDIC is an attached agency of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas.
