9. Which financial institutions are members and not members of PDIC?

All banking institutions licensed to operate as such by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) are members of the PDIC. This includes universal and commercial banks (including branches and subsidiaries of foreign banks), thrift banks, rural and cooperative banks, and digital banks. For the quarterly updated list of insured banks, please visit the PDIC website at, www.pdic.gov.ph/dc_listofbanks.

Meanwhile, non-bank financial institutions such as cooperatives and non-stock savings and loan associations are not members of PDIC.

by virtue of Republic Act 3591, as amended, to insure
the deposits of all banks. PDIC exists to protect
depositors by providing deposit insurance coverage for the depositing public and help promote financial stability. PDIC is an attached agency of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas.
