PDIC issues Bulletin to banks on Depositor Protection and Awareness Week

The Philippine Deposit Insurance Corporation (PDIC) will spearhead the commemoration of the Depositor Protection and Awareness Week (DPAW) on June 16-22, 2011, now on its ninth year. PDIC issued Bulletin No. 2011-15 on May 18, 2011 enjoining all member banks to display streamers during the week-long celebration outside their main offices. Banks were also requested to include the electronic version of the streamer for display in their ATM machines.

Presidential Proclamation No. 358 signed on April 4, 2003 declared June 16-22 of every year as DPAW. The observation of the DPAW aims to further strengthen depositor confidence in the country’s banking system to complement the government’s thrust of sustaining economic growth.
