PDIC to pay Depositors of Growers RB on April 27-28

The Philippine Deposit Insurance Corporation (PDIC) will process and pay valid deposit insurance claims of depositors of the closed Growers Rural Bank (Angono, Rizal), Inc during its two-day claims settlement operations (CSO) from April 27-28, 2011.

PDIC advised depositors to come on the appointment date during the CSO at the bank site, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM based on the number indicated on their Claims Status Sheets (CSS) issued when their claims were filed. On April 27, PDIC will service priority numbers, 1-25, from 8:00 AM to 12:00 noon, and priority numbers, 26-50, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM. On April 28, depositors with priority numbers, 51-75, will be serviced in the morning, and those with priority numbers, 76-100, in the afternoon.

PDIC stressed that depositors who were not able to report on their appointment date may not be accommodated by the PDIC representative during the CSO. Those who failed to come on their appointed dates should proceed to the PDIC Office located at the 4th Floor SSS Bldg., 6782 Ayala Ave. corner V.A. Rufino St., Makati City during office hours, Monday to Friday starting May 2, 2011.

Depositors are required to present their Claims Status Sheets and original copy of the two (2) valid IDs submitted during the filing of the claim. Minor depositors who are below 18 years old must also present the original and clear photocopy of their Birth Certificates from the National Statistics Office (NSO) or duly certified copy from the local civil registrar. A Special Power of Attorney executed by the depositor or parent of a minor depositor is required if claimant is not the signatory in the bank records.

The last day for filing deposit insurance claims in the closed Growers RB is on March 4, 2013. After the said date, PDIC as insurer, shall no longer accept any claim for insured deposits maintained with the said closed bank.

The PDIC reminded depositors that Claim Forms and other pro-forma documents from PDIC are free of charge. PDIC also advised depositors to transact their business only with authorized PDIC representatives. PDIC reiterated its commitment to pay deposit insurance for all valid deposits as soon as possible.
