IADI Asia Regional Committee Chairman Mutsuo Hatano highlighted the relevance of the paper as a valuable material not just to deposit insurance systems in Asia but also to all other DIS around the world. The PDIC Occasional Paper series was launched in 2005 in response to the growing recognition of the need to inform the public about the role of a deposit insurer in the financial safety net. It was designed as a source of relevant information on deposit insurance and other issues concerning the financial system which is accessible to the general public. Its publication is part of the initial steps undertaken towards fulfilling PDIC's goal of becoming a rich repository of information on deposit insurance and financial stability issues. |
