Presidential Proclamation No. 358 signed on April 4, 2003 declared June 16-22 of every year as Depositor Protection and Awareness Week (DPAW). The issuance aims to further strengthen depositor confidence in the country's banking system to complement the government's thrust of sustaining economic growth.

Thus, all banks are encouraged to support this weeklong observance by displaying the DPAW electronic banner on their ATMs, LED monitors in bank premises, websites and facebook pages for the duration of the DPAW. In addition, banks are enjoined to share in their Facebook pages the information materials and infographics posted in the PDIC Facebook account. The electronic banner may be downloaded from the PDIC website, www.pdic.gov.ph while the information materials/graphics may be shared via PDIC's official Facebook page, www.facebook.com/OfficialPDIC.
