PDIC Announces Terminal Payout for Rural Bank of Vinzons (Camarines Norte), Inc

Depositors of the closed Rural Bank of Vinzons (Camarines Norte), Inc. have only until January 8, 2007 to file their deposit insurance claims.

In an advisory, the Philippine Deposit Insurance Corporation (PDIC) announced that January 8, 2007 is the prescriptive date or last date for filing claims for insured deposits in the closed RB Vinzons. After this date, PDIC will no longer accept any claim for insured deposits from the bank's depositors.

RB Vinzons was ordered closed by the Monetary Board on January 6, 2005. To date, PDIC has paid about P5.78 million in insured amount out of the total estimated insured amount of P5.97 million, representing about 97% of the total insured deposit amount of the closed bank.

Depositors are advised to proceed directly to the lobby of the Vinzons Municipal Hall, Municipality of Vinzons, Camarines Norte where PDIC representatives will service claims starting January 3 to 6 and January 8, during office hours (8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.).

Depositors should present their original evidence of deposits such as savings passbook or certificates of time deposit; and two (2) valid identification cards (IDs) with the depositor's signature to PDIC representatives when filing their claims.
