July 6, 2018

The Philippine Deposit Insurance Corporation (PDIC) led the “Save Wisely, Live Confidently” exhibit to observe the 16th Depositor Protection and Awareness Week (DPAW) on June 16 to 22, 2018. The exhibit highlighted practical and useful saving tips from financial experts and personal finance advocates such as Efren Cruz, Rose Fres-Fausto, Randell Tiongson, Ardy Roberto, Miriam Quiambao, Chinkee Tan, Lianne Martha Maiquez Laroya, Alvin Tabañag, and Rhea Mocorro-Haguisan. The exhibit, open to the public, was on display until July 6, 2018 at the PDIC’s Public Assistance Center located at the 3rd Floor, SSS Building, 6782 Ayala Avenue corner V.A. Rufino St., Makati City.

The DPAW is a yearly campaign spearheaded by the PDIC in accordance with Presidential Proclamation No. 358 issued on April 4, 2003 which declared June 16 to 22 of every year as Depositor Protection and Awareness Week. The annual observance aimed at strengthening the country’s banking system through enhanced depositor confidence to complement the government’s thrust of sustaining economic growth through savings mobilization. Banks and PDIC’s partner-agencies also supported the DPAW observance by displaying the DPAW banner in their respective office premises.
