PDIC Starts Servicing Claims of RB Pilar Deposits |
The Philippine Deposit Insurance Corporation (PDIC) announced that it will start servicing the claims for insured deposits of depositors in the closed Rural Bank of Pilar, (Capiz) Inc. (RBPI) today, July 13, 2006, a week after the PDIC took over the closed bank. In an advisory, PDIC informed depositors of the closed bank to proceed directly to the bank's offices where they maintained their deposit accounts. The bank's Head office is located in Poblacion, Pilar, Capiz while its lone branch is at the Teodoro Arcenas Trading Center, Roxas City. Depositors are advised to present their evidences of deposits such as savings passbook or certificates of time deposit; and two (2) valid identification cards (IDs) with depositor's signature to the designated PDIC representatives. PDIC will service claims during office hours, Monday to Friday. RBPI's Head office and Roxas City branch will service claims until July 28 and July 21, 2006, respectively. After the said dates, claims will be serviced at the Claims Processing Department, 6/F PDIC Ayala Extension Office, 6782 Ayala Avenue corner V.A. Rufino St. (formerly Herrera St.), Makati City during office hours. RBPI has estimated deposit liabilities of P11.59 million comprising of 1,332 deposit accounts. The Monetary Board (MB) ordered the closure of RBPI on July 6. PDIC took over the bank on July 7. Depositors of RBPI are given 24 months from bank takeover to file their claims or until July 7, 2008 only. End |
