Notice to the Insured Depositors of the Closed Export and Industry Bank

The Philippine Deposit Insurance Corporation (PDIC) will accept deposit insurance claims from depositors of the closed Export and Industry Bank (EIB) until April 28, 2014 only (prescriptive date or last day for filing claims) pursuant to Republic Act (RA) 3591, as amended, or the PDIC Charter.

RA 3591 provides that depositors of closed banks have two years from date of bank closure to file their deposit insurance claims. The Monetary Board (MB) of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) placed EIB under the receivership of the PDIC on April 26, 2012 by virtue of MB Resolution No. 686. After April 28, 2014, the PDIC, as Deposit Insurer, shall no longer accept claims for insured deposits from EIB depositors.

Deposit insurance claims may be filed either personally at the PDIC Claims Counter, 4th Floor, SSS Bldg., 6782 Ayala Avenue corner V.A. Rufino Street, Makati City or through mail.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS FOR FILING DEPOSIT INSURANCE CLAIMS:

  1. Duly accomplished Claim Form (may be downloaded from the PDIC website)
  2. Original evidence of deposit
  3. Two (2) original valid photo-bearing IDs with signature of the depositor

PDIC will not accept claims which are incomplete/lacking in requirements. Other documents may be required by PDIC in the course of processing of claims.
