I congratulate the Philippine Deposit Insurance Corporation (PDIC) on its 54th Anniversary together with the observance of the 15th Depositor Protection and Awareness Week with the theme: “Protect Your Future: Be a Wise Saver”.

On this special occasion, I am proud to say that the partnership of PDIC and the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) on enhancing financial stability has been remarkable. This is made possible by our collaborative efforts and shared goals in promoting financial literacy and awareness programs.

The depositor awareness campaign is a model of PDIC’s wide range of financial literacy initiatives that augments its role as protector of the banking system. This endeavor effectively amplifies prudential programs that sustain public confidence in the banking system.

Moving forward, an even stronger teamwork can be expected with the PDIC’s enhanced resolution authorities that will afford better protection to depositors and advancement of financial inclusion.
